About Ballykinler

Abercorn Barracks Ballykinler is home to 2 Rifles, a fully operational light roled Battle-Group.

Ballykinler is situated on the southeast coast of Northern Ireland, right on the coast with a blue flag beach overlooked by the Mourne Mountains.

The nearest town Downpatrick, 7 miles away, has a small selection of services, which include: shops, supermarkets, Hospital (with A&E), local college and leisure centre. The nearest City is Lisburn (approximately 25 miles), which has many amenities and facilities.
